It was with great delight that we were able to launch our first product called the Budgeting Package. We had a wonderful group of people who attended the evening with some encouraging testimonials received from our customers. Paul and Kirstin carried out a wonderful presentation of the product with a great deal of detail given to the simplicity of the tool which can see you finding money you didnt know you had. It is very basic and has been wecomed by the community with open arms. We have had such a terrific response that we have now extended our business to workshops. We had received an invitation from the Coolah community to attend a Family Fun day with invited guest Father Chris Riley in attendance. As you can imagine this was quite an opportunity and we welcomed the chance to meet such a giving person who worked so well with our youth. We were inspired with the work that Father Chris Riley does and the wonderful people he works with. It was a day of fun and laughter with an evening to enjoy showing of the talented stars of Coolah. We plan on staying in touch with Father Chris Riley's organisation as the budgeting package would be of such benefit to all young people. We held our first workshop with Mission Australia last week and what an amazing day it was. I say that because we met with people who had limited knowledge about budgeting much like Paul and I when we first started married life. It proved a challenge to get through the initial tool and more so because of identifying incoming and outgoing finances. Then after a guestimate of what these costs where the fun really started. We worked on case senarios with a pay packet received and identified a weekly routine. By the end of the day we had identified some smart ideas for being thrifty and had planned a short term goal with finances. The feedback we received was incredibly positive and our audience were rather impressive in their commitment to detail with their ability to work through the three packages. These are very smart people!
We have started counting down now for Christmas, actually it isnt really us it is our children. They are in the Christmas spirit and the excitement is in our house, each day one of the children changes the number on the white board for the amount of days. We feel very lucky to be able to spend Christmas with our children as they are the closest family to us, most of our family live overseas. We have a Secret Santa that we share with some of our friends and this has proved to be a family tradition that every one loves right from the moment of picking out the name, purchasing the gift, wrapping and exchanging. We had the opportunity to have Mountain Life present at the launch of our first product. This was very positive for us and we spoke with the editor Bronwen about our function. It was quite an incentive for us to know that this media outlet had a particular interest in our need to help others with something we had developed and printed in Orange. Locally owned and locally grown! What a delightful lady Bronwen was who expressed a keen interest in what we were doing. Have you ever wanted to really learn about yourself, I mean delve into the true you? I had that opportunity just recently after attending the SOFT program run by the Rural Womens Network. The acronym stands for Shaping Our Futures Together and I guess it has gained that name because people are able to work together and share so much during the days of our life experiences, dreams, goals and family. We had two wonderful facilitators Sonia and Sandy, who did a tremendous job in bringing everyone together. We had fun, laughter, soul searching, goal setting and received many useful resources to help us along our journey of life.
